Una Línea (Experimental Short Film)

Una-Línea-Poster

Inspired by the tempestuous yet passionate relationship between Mexican artist Frida Kahlo de Rivera and her husband Diego, this film explores the complex issues of obsession, rage and domestic violence while evoking the surrealist aesthetic of Frida’s own work.

Production Notes

It may seem hard to imagine but “Una Línea” was shot on a blustery cold afternoon in Connemara – in the remote west of Ireland – far from the Mexican roots of the narrative. The film is a collaboration between Make-up Artist Ewa Doszczak, Writer/ Director Cathal Ó Cuaig and Photographer Katharina Gebhardt. It is the first acting experience for both Ewa Doszczak and Diego Rojas. The film was made with zero finance, it was purely a goodwill collaboration between a group of like-minded artists.
